Charleston MOAA does it's annual support for the Marines Toys for Tots program.  When you go through the photos, you can follow us as we first load the toys we bought from BSN, our sports balls purchaser for us, and then we deliver them to the Toys for Tots facility where the individual packets are prepared.

The Marines have a system where a volunteer takes a card with a family needs request and goes around to the various boxes filled with different toys for different genders and ages and to the bicycles (if requested) the families have requested and fills the bag for the family.  Then the family is notified to come pick up the bag with their goodies.  A very well organized process.

Some have asked why we provide balls.  They cover the middle area, too old for small toys or dolls, and too old for the senior teenagers (18,19).  Additionally, a ball will entertain any where from two to ten or more kids. at any one time.

Charleston MOAA has been doing this for over 20 years and provided over 5000 balls.  The Marines have been very grateful for our unique, special support.  We fill a gap that is difficult to fill.
