      Chaplain
      PHILLIP CLARK USN LCDR Retired

      Phil was born in Indianapolis, IN on October 21, 1957.  He is eldest of four children.  He has been an ordained Lutheran pastor for 34 years beginning in January 1987.  LCDR Clark served in the U.S. Navy Chaplain Corps from 1993-2013.  During that time he served eight different commands of Sailors and Marines.  He and his wife, Jill, have been married for 13 years as of May 2021 and he has a stepdaughter, Colleen.   Among some of his favorite commands served were aboard the USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70), USS SAN JACINTO (CG 56) and with Marines at 3rd FSSG in Okinawa, Japan, MCDR Parris Island (Recruit Training) and MAG 24 in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.  Chaplain Clark serves as the volunteer Chaplain for the Charleston MOAA Chapter and formerly served as the Chaplain for the Lowcountry MOAA Chapter in Beaufort, SC.  He also serves as the Chaplain/Volunteer Coordinator of the Lutheran Campus Ministry at the Citadel. Chaplain Clark enjoys outdoor gardening, kayaking, walking/biking, baking and photography.
