Awards Ceremony, 24 April, 1400

Arrived Timberland High School at 1400 hours, had nice visit with Major Antwine and M/Sgt Woodberry along with other presenters.

Mr. McCombs, asst Principal, welcomed all and thanked everyone for their support. The program got under way on schedule with the colors being presented and the pledge of Allegiance rendered.

Timberland has a very good JROTC program in place with a dedicated corps of cadets. Both Cadet 1St Lt Ashton Scott, MOAA Medal recipient, and Cadet Captain Matthews Rogers requested that I convey their appreciation to the board of MOAA for their awards.

I visited with a number of cadets, listened to some of their goals and ambitions and truly believe that I was in the company of some future General in our Armed Forces. Again I want to thank MOAA for allowing me this honor and privilege.
