Colonel Beverly Brockman was born and raised in Rutherfordton, North Carolina; however, she later moved to Kings Mountain and remained there for twenty years before moving to South Carolina in 2008.

Beverly enlisted in the Army in 1973 and spent three years on active duty before entering the National Guard. During her service, she went from Private to Sergeant (E-5), then received a direct commission to Second Lieutenant in the Army. From there, she moved on to the rank of Colonel.

During her career, Colonel Beverly Brockman served in many jobs from Company level up through Battalion and Brigade levels in the Adjutant General Corps and the Corps of Engineers. She made good use of her Business degree from the University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, Washington, undertaking tasks ranging from Supply Officer through Personnel Officer, Force Development Officer and the Deputy United States Property Fiscal Officer for the North Carolina National Guard.

In her years of service, Colonel Beverly Brockman received many awards from both state and federal levels. Among her federal awards were the Legion of Merit, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal – 3, Humanitarian Service Medal – 1 and Meritorious Service Medal – 2. State level awards include the NC Service Award -3, NC Achievement Medal -3 and NC Distinguished Service Medal as well as the prestigious State of North Carolina Order of the Long Leaf Pine.

Beverly is currently a Management Recruiter for the Packaging Industry and is now recruiting new members for Charleston MOAA.
